533 - DEMOLITION SPECIALIST
[DEMOL SPL]
By means of explosives, destroys such military objects as bridges, roads, road blocks, and buildings.
Uses explosives to create road blocks, to clear areas, or to assist in the construction of gun emplacements. Uses mine detectors to locate enemy land mines, and neutralizes them. Prepares and neutralizes booby traps. May operate and maintain flame throwers. Must be thoroughly familiar with the safety precautions to be taken in the handling and use of explosives.
Must be able to determine the size, type, and placement of explosives to be used according to the object to be demolished.
