669 - QUARTERMASTER SUPPLY BASIC
[QM SUP BASIC]
This SSN is a temporary designation for enlisted persons who have had general training in organization, procedures, forms, and administrative practices of the entire Quartermaster Department, but who are not as yet qualified in one of the more specific military specialties described elsewhere in this manual, as for example, SSN's 371, 379, 573, 574, 575, 580, 581, 582, 583, 639, 735, 740, 819, 821, 844, or 978.
Marines with this SSN should be closely observed and should be reclassified to a more appropriate SSN as they develop skill and become competent in a more specific specialty. This SSN will not be assigned to men in the field. It will not appear in Tables of Organization, and it will not be used to requisition personnel unless an explanation of the duties to which the Marine is to be assigned accompanies the request.
