711 - SHIP LOADING MAN
Performs various clerical, technical, and supervisory duties involved in the planning and loading and unloading of personnel, equipment, and supplies for amphibious operations.
Maintains files and records of the characteristics of transports and cargo ships used for amphibious operations; assists in the preparation of detailed loading plans in accordance with priorities for unloading; assists in planning and directing movement of troops, equipment, and supplies to and from docks; supervises dock and hatch crews in loading, securing, and unloading cargo.
Must have general familiarity with principles of combat loading of ships for amphibious operations, and with proper methods of handling, stowing, and protecting ship cargoes. Must have general familiarity with such forms as Unit Personnel and Tonnage Table, Cargo Manifest, Debarkation Priority List, Supply Loading Analysis, Loading Summary, Stowage Plan, and Profile Loading Plan.
