MOS 0287, Military Source Operations Specialist

Description.
MSOS trained and certified human source operations intelligence specialists are subject matter experts on the techniques and methodologies for planning, conducting and managing source operations. These specialists are expected to possess a working knowledge of Human Source Intelligence tradecraft, mission analysis, source administration, intelligence oversight and liaison. This MOS is to be assigned only as a FMOS and will be assigned and voided only by the authority of the Director of Intelligence (DIRINT). This MOS is applicable to the Reserves
 
 
Prerequisites. 
(1) Must be a sergeant or above.
(2) Prior to entry into the required training, must have sufficient obligated service to allow 36 months remaining upon graduation.

 
Requirements.
(1) Must complete one of the following advanced foreigncounterintelligence course:
(a) Source Operations Course (SOC) (3C-F17/244-F9).
(b) Counterintelligence Force Protection Source Operations Course(CFSO), at Joint Counterintelligence Training Academy (JCITA), Elkridge, MD.
(2) Marines attending courses, that are not listed above, but may provide an alternate training solution, may be awarded the 0287 FMOS MSOS by
the DIRINT. A request, to include specific details of the course and proof of successful completion, must be provided to the DIRINT justifying the
awarding of this FMOS.
