AUTOMATIC TELEPHONE SYSTEM MAINTENANCE MAN (115)

Maintains, repairs and tests switching and auxiliary equipment of an automatic telephone system such as may be installed at an Army or general headquarters.

Locates and diagnoses trouble and clears it by making necessary adjustments, replacement or repair of items such as switches, relays, selectors, terminal banks, keys, jacks, lamps, cords, plugs, generators, rectifiers, and brushes.  Uses electrician's small hand tools and test instruments.

Must be thoroughly familiar with the functioning of circuits, and with telephone repair and adjusting fundamentals.
