Conducts prepared and "on-the-spot" interviews, and describes combat and other newsworthy events concerning the Marine Corps and individual Marines, for disc, film, and wire recording.
Prepares script for, directs, and participates as interviewer in recorded programs. Must be adept in "ad libbing" and must be able to conduct interesting interviews extemporaneously and to give accurate oral descriptions of events. Should be able to write interesting radio programs. Must have good diction and a command of good English.
Must be thoroughly familiar with microphone techniques, and must have a general knowledge of radio broadcasting studio procedures and of recording equipment. Note—Use SSN 841, Recording Technician, for personnel who operate, maintain, and repair recording equipment.
