MOS 0283, Advanced Foreign Counterintelligence Specialist

Description.
AFCS trained and certified foreign counterintelligence specialists are knowledgeable in the conduct of Foreign Counterintelligence Investigations, surveillance operations and Offensive Foreign Counterintelligence Operations (OFCO). These specialists are expected to possess a working knowledge of the fundamentals of planning and conducting OFCO to include DOD authorities and requirements for CI operations, the operational cycle, tradecraft, foreign intelligence and security service structure and targeting, bi-lateral operations, surveillance detection, technical, polygraph and psychology support to counterintelligence operations. This MOS is to be assigned only as a FMOS and will be assigned and voided only by the authority of the Director of Intelligence (DIRINT). This MOS is applicable to the Reserves.
 
 
Prerequisites. 
(1) Must be a sergeant or above.
(2) Prior to entry into required courses, must have sufficient obligated service to allow 36 months remaining upon graduation
.

 
Requirements.
(1) Must complete all of the following advanced foreign counterintelligence courses:
(a) Advanced Foreign Counterintelligence Surveillance Course, at the Joint Counterintelligence Training Academy (JCITA), Elkridge, MD.
(b) Advanced Foreign Counterintelligence Operations Course at the Joint Counterintelligence Training Academy (JCITA), Elkridge, MD.
(c) Advanced Foreign Counterintelligence Investigations Course at the Joint Counterintelligence Training Academy (JCITA), Elkridge, MD.
(2) A request to include specific details of the course, and proof of successful completion, must be provided to the DIRINT justifying the awarding of this FMOS.
