Loadmaster/In-Flight refueling observers perform duties as required in a variety of missions, to include: safety observer for aerial refueling evolutions, staging/loading of cargo and passengers aboard tactical transport aircraft, computing of weight and balance, determining cargo restraint criteria, applying cargo restraints, transporting of hazardous material aboard military aircraft, conducting the aerial delivery of passengers and cargo, and conducting rapid ground refueling.
Prerequisites.
(1) Must have a GT score of 110 or higher.
(2) Must have an MM score of 205 or higher.
(3) Must have normal color perception.
(4) Must be eligible for a secret security clearance.
(5) Volunteer for flight duties involving flight as an aircraft crewmember.
(6) Must be a 2nd class swimmer or higher.
(7) Must meet the requirements of references (aj) and (ak), the USN Manual of the Medical Department with normal depth perception.
Requirements.
(1) Complete the Naval Air Crewman Candidate School in Pensacola, FL or Little Rock Air Force Base, Little Rock, AR.
(2) Complete the Loadmaster Initial Qualification (LIQ) Course at Little Rock Air Force Base, Little Rock, AR.
(3) Complete the Basic Loadmaster (BLM) Course at Little Rock Air Force Base, Little Rock, AR.
(4) Complete the Loadmaster Qualification (LMQ) Course, Little Rock Air Force Base, Little Rock, AR.
(5) Must have 30 months of obligated service upon completion of the formal training at Little Rock Air Force Base, Little Rock, AR. Reserves must have 90 days of active duty upon completion of required training at Little Rock, AR..
