Meat Inspector

Inspects and examines foods of animal origin such as meat, fowl, fish, milk, cheese, and butter to insure compliance with purity, grade, and quality standards prior to, at time of, and subsequent to purchase of meat or dairy products.  Inspects storehouses and refrigerators where food is stored to insure compliance with Army sanitary regulations.

Maintains records of inspections and findings and sends questionable articles of food to medical laboratory for examination.  May assist veterinary officer in the care and treatment of animals.

Must be familiar with Army sanitary standards and have working knowledge of food inspection methods.
