129 - FOUNDRYMAN
Performs such duties as making cores, forming sand molds, firing and charging furnaces, pouring metal into molds, removing and cleaning castings, and other operations incident to the preparation of castings.
Works with iron, aluminum, brass, or other metals. Must have thorough knowledge of proper temperatures at which various metals may best be cast. Should have a knowledge of molding sands and how they are mixed. Should be familiar with core-making operations. Note—See also SSN 148.
