Inspects, repairs, or replaces damaged sheet metal surfaces, rigging, and light metal fittings of airplanes.
May perform major repairs such as reconstructing badly damaged wings, elevators, hatches, and metal cowling, and replacing ribs in wings. Must have general familiarity with aircraft construction. Must thoroughly understand methods of arresting cracks, cold riveting, welding, and patching airplane sheet metal.
