[BOMBSIGHT MECH]
Installs and removes bombsight before and after missions; cleans, adjusts, and services instrument at regular intervals; keeps records of bombsight operation.
May service bomb-release mechanisms, gunsights, gun and torpedo cameras, torpedo directors, optical gunsights, computing gunsights, and turrets. Must be skilled in the use of small hand tools. Must be familiar with security measures relative to the use and storage of bombsights. Must be familiar with flight control mechanisms of airplanes.
Note—Marines with SSN 683 who have completed a course in automatic pilot equipment should carry SSN 682 as their primary SSN.
