801 - DRUM MAJOR
Leads the band or drum and bugle corps during field formations, military ceremonies, and drills.
Calls roll of and inspects band members. Inspects band quarters. Directs issuance and inspection of musical instruments, music, and related supplies and equipment. May assist Band Leader (SSN 020) in administrative activities such as preparation of correspondence, rosters, and requisitions for supplies. Must be thoroughly familiar with drill formations for bands and drum and bugle corps.
Must know regulations and procedures pertaining to band and drum and bugle corps activities during military ceremonies. Must be a qualified Field Music (SSN 803) or a competent musician on one or more musical instruments.
