Inspects, installs, tests, and repairs ground and airborne amplitude modulated radio transmitting and receiving instruments and related equipment.
May repair frequency modulated equipment. Tests equipment with such instruments as voltmeters, ohmmeters, tube testers, and oscilloscopes. Locates defects and corrects them either by replacing parts, or by repairing units. Improvises or makes substitutions for defective parts when replacements are not available. Must have general knowledge of the theory of operation of radio transmitters, receivers, and related equipment. Note—See also SSN's 649 and 759.
