Installs, inspects, tests, services, and repairs telegraphic typewriting machines, including receiving, transmitting and relay units.
Test-operates machine to determine necessary adjustments and repairs; measures spring tensions with finely calibrated scales and corrects tensions in accordance with prescribed standards; measures separation of electrical contact points with metal gauges and adjusts points; cleans and lubricates machine; traces electrical circuits; locates and repairs difficulty. May repair typewriters.
Must have thorough knowledge of circuits and equipment commonly employed for telegraphic transmission.
