870 - CHEMICAL WARFARE SPECIALIST
[CW SPL]
Trains others in defense against gas attack by familiarizing men with methods of detecting and identifying gases, with use and care of gas masks and protective clothing, with decontamination techniques, and with first aid treatment to gas casualties.
Supervises installation of gas warning and detection devices. May supervise construction of gas proof filters and dug-outs. May have charge of chemical warfare equipment and supplies, such as decontamination agents and protective clothing. Must be thoroughly familiar with all defensive measures pertaining to chemical warfare. Must be capable of instructing others.
