998 - Special Assignment
An enlisted Marine regularly performing duties of a highly specialized nature that are not covered by one of the military specialties described in this manual.
Note—This specification serial number will be used only after clearing each specific case with Headquarters, Marine Corps, as described in Sections 11 and 14 of Chapter I.
