Supervises the activities of personnel of a motor transportation unit in the operation, inspection, maintenance, repair, and refueling of motor vehicles.
May supervise activities of an amphibious truck unit. Is responsible to Motor Transport Officer (SSN 0600) for the over-all functioning of the motor transport section. Must be thoroughly familiar with regulations governing the operation, maintenance, and organization of a motor pool. Must be thoroughly familiar with the standards to be maintained for inspection and repair of motor vehicles.
