Inspects, services, and makes all manner of repairs and replacements on gasoline or Diesel-powered tanks, excluding repairs to the armament, armament accessories, and communication equipment.
May repair such armored full-track vehicles as the 105mm howitzer motor carriage. May maintain and repair other types of vehicles in a tank unit. Must be thoroughly familiar with tank construction. Must have knowledge of the theory, construction, and operation of tank engines, and be competent to perform major repairs.
