Collects newsworthy material and writes news stories and feature articles, describing general and individual action in combat zones, or activities at posts and stations, for use in newspapers, magazines, radio broadcasting, and official historical archives.
Aids civilian correspondents in reporting combat news. Furnishes, when required, combat reports for historical records. Must be thoroughly competent in the gathering of news material and in the writing of news stories and feature articles. Must be thoroughly qualified to recognize newsworthy material and to prepare it according to the best professional standards of newspaper or magazine writing.
Must have a general knowledge of the distribution of material to newspapers, newspaper services, and magazines.
