Shoes horses and mules, and performs the incidental forging required to fit metal shoes to animals in such a manner as to interfere as little as possible with the natural gaits of the animals.
Must be able to relieve pressure on injured or sensitive hoof areas and to correct faulty gaits in animals by corrective shoeing.
