978 - ORDNANCE STOCK MAN
[ORD STOCK MAN]
Performs various stockroom duties incident to the handling of ordnance supplies other than spare parts.
Receives incoming ordnance supplies; checks supplies against requisitions, invoices, and bills of lading; stores supplies in bins, racks, or compartments, arranging items in such a manner so as to facilitate issue and taking of inventories, and to provide maximum protection against damage and deterioration; receives and fills requisitions, maintains such records as are kept in the warehouse or stockroom, and takes inventories.
May also crate, pack, and ship ordnance supplies. Must be thoroughly familiar with ordnance equipment other than spare parts. Must know nomenclature of equipment. Must have general familiarity with warehousing procedure. Should have general familiarity with regulations governing accountability and responsibility for government property. Note—Technicians qualified to repair and maintain ordnance equipment will retain their technical SSN's as primary.
