Performs various educational, recreational, athletic, and personal guidance duties in a unit.
Assists in planning, organizing, and administering off-duty instruction for groups and individuals and in providing educational guidance services; explains system of granting college and high school credit for training obtained in the service. Assists in the planning or adminstration of various recreational projects, such as stage plays, vaudeville acts, concerts, community sings, and motion pictures; distributes phonograph records and transcriptions; assists in the operation of clubs, recreation halls, and libraries.
Promulgates information concerning benefits and welfare and service projects available to personnel and their dependents. Procures, stores, and issues equipment and material for athletic, recreational, educational, and welfare activities. Must have initiative, organizational, and administrative ability, and an understanding of welfare and educational programs.
Must know specifications, care, source, and use of athletic, recreational, educational, entertainment, and musical equipment. NoteāUse SSN 283 for persons qualified only in the recreation and athletic aspects of special services work.
