I am pretty sure that the man (kid at the time) in the first row standing 2nd from the left is my dad. Floyd Deon Pollard. He ended up a career man retiring as an Air Force SMSgt in 1971. After this foto he was stationed on the USS Formalhaut. He was at Buckner Bay, Okinawa during the typhoon that following October. He was then sent to Japan briefly after the Japanese surrender and then to China to patrol the Yangtze and Yellow Rivers. After his stint with the USN has was briefly in the AAC and then joined the USAF upon its inception in 1948.
