14Z - Air Defense Artillery Senior Sergeant

The ADA senior sergeant supervises, plans, coordinates, and directs the emplacement, operation, unit level maintenance and management of air defense artillery weapon systems in support of ADA units at all levels. Supervises and provides technical guidance to subordinate Soldiers in the accomplishment of their duties. Supervise training, evaluations and certification of AD crews in AD table training crew-drills. Monitors unit equipment readiness and prepares monthly readiness reports. Perform inspections on maintenance records and demand supported/diagnostics repair parts stockage procedures. Designs and implements the unit maintenance programs. Coordinate with maintenance and logistical support activities. Perform organizational planning, operations and training.

Operations Sergeant:  Serves as the Operations Sergeant for an Echelon Above Corps Air Defense Artillery Battalion with a world-wide contingency mission; Primary responsibility of Long, Short, and Near-term planning, military schools processing, ranges and ammunition forecasting, tasking management, and master gunner operations; Responsible for the morale and welfare of 15 soldiers, 12 NCOs, 4 NCOICs, and section equipment and facilities valued at over 15 million dollars.

Intelligence Sergeant:  Serves as the S-2 Intelligence Sergeant for an Echelon Above Corps Air Defense Artillery Brigade with a world-wide contingency mission; Primary responsibility of Long, Short, and Near-term planning, Brigade Intelligence operations, serves as the Brigades Physical Security NCOIC; responsible for the daily operations of the S-2 staff to include administrative actions relating to personnel and physical security, Map Library Custodian, maintains and training; responsible for the morale and welfare of 5 soldiers, 2 NCOs, 2 NCOICs, and section equipment and facilities valued at over 25 million dollars.

Air Defense Master Evaluator:  Serves as the Air Defense Master Evaluator for a FORSCOM Echelon Above Corps Patriot Battalion missioned to 3rd Army; Responsible for the health, welfare, morale, training, and professional development of 3 soldiers; Assists the Battalion Electronic Missile Maintenance Officer (EMMO) with training evaluations of unit Fire Control and Launcher personnel IAW the Patriot Brigade Gunnery Program standards; Responsible for the safety, readiness, and training of over 1 billion dollars of Patriot equipment within the battalion; Evaluates all Patriot components at both the battalion and battery levels; Aids in the development of the Battalion defense design; Coordinates all battalion evaluations and both coordinates and executes battery level evaluations at the Table VIII level; Validates training plans for Patriot related equipment in the battalion; Administers Table IV written exams; Provides input for selection of future Master Gunners; Enforces Gunnery Program and TSOP standards consistently throughout the battalion; Provides training to subordinate unit Master Gunners.
