51C - Acquisitions NCO

The MOS 51C was designed to aide the Acquisition Corps in bridging the gaps that occur before military logistics resources can be mobilized. In some cases this aide will be necessary for the duration of the contingency, humanitarian, assistance or peacekeeping operations; especially where no Host Nation Support (HNS), nation to nation, agreements exist for the supplies or services required.

ALT Contracting NCO SCCT: Serve as ALT Contracting Noncommissioned Officer, Contracting Support Brigade (CSB)/Principal Responsible For Contracting (PARC), assist with supporting CSB staff operations and functions while supporting the Area of Responsibility or Theater of Operation of the Army Service Component Commander and CSB/PARC theater wide contracting missions.  Primary mission is to deploy as a member of Early Entry Modular (EEM) CSB staff and in support of other contingencies as required; certification and or accreditation as level I/II contracting specialist.

ALT Contracting NCO Battalion Staff:  Serves as ALT Contracting Noncommissioned Officer, Senior Contingency Contracting Team member; assist with supporting the Area of Responsibility or Theater of Operation of the Army Service Component Commander theater-wide contracting mission. Primary mission is to deploy as a warranted Contracting Officer and serve as a member of Early Entry Module (EEM) Senior Contingency Contracting Team. Responsible for assisting with the development and administration/revision of Contracting support plans and policy, annex, and appendices in support of operational, contingency and deliberate plans associated with AOR operations; accreditation levels I/II as a contracting specialists or certified under DAWIA at level I/II as a warranted contracting officer.

ALT Contracting NCO Team Leader:  Serve as an ALT Contracting Noncommissioned Officer Team Leader, supporting the Area of Responsibility or Theater of Operation of the Army Service Component Commander theater- wide contracting mission.  Primary mission is to deploy and serve as a member of Early Entry Modular (EEM) Contingency Contracting Team.  ALT Contracting NCO Team Leader will assists in deliberate and crisis action planning cycles.  Development and or/preparation of contracting support plan (CSPs) OPLANS and CONPLANS; advises units or mission commander on the availability, location and condition of commercial supplies and services.  In conjunction with mission Finance, trains and manages unit field ordering officers as required.

ALT Contracting NCO Battalion:  Serve as ALT Contracting Noncommissioned Officer, Plans and Policy Division, NCOIC for a Contingency Contracting Battalion.  Assisting with the development and administration/revision of Contracting support plans and policies, annexes, and appendices in support of operational, contingency and deliberate plans associated with AOR operations and their integration with the AFSB staff and ALT war plans.  Assist with operational planning and policy generation support for deployed joint task force and deployed / joint service personnel in the AOR.  Assist with deploying, and executing mission with planning and policy personnel in support of standing operations and orders, Contingency Plans, and Deliberate Plans for contingencies and military operations; accreditation as level I/II as contracting specialist or certified as level I/II warranted contracting officer.  

ALT Contracting NCO Ops and Regs:  Serve as ALT Contracting Noncommissioned, Operations and Requirement Section, NCOIC, Contingency Contracting Battalion staff.  Assist with the execution and administration/revision of Contracting support plans, annex, and appendices in support of operational, contingency and deliberate plans associated with PARC AOR operations.  Provides operational and requirement generation support for deployed joint task force and deployed and joint forces in the AOR; assist with operations and requirements generation execution in support of Army, Joint, multi-national forces and exercises.  Assist with leading, deploying, and executing operations and requirements personnel in support of standing operations and orders, Contingency Plans, and Deliberate Plans for contingencies and military operations.  Assist with the development, revision and maintenance of all operational databases and plans for deployable Contingency Contracting Computer hardware/software; accreditation as level I/II contracting specialist or certified DAWIA as Level II warranted contracting officer.  

ALT Contracting NCO Brigade:  Serve as ALT Contracting Noncommissioned Officer, Operations and Requirement Section, Contracting Support Brigade/Principle Assistant Responsible For Contracting (PARC).  Provide administrative assistance with the execution and administration/revision of Contracting support plans, annex, and appendices in support of operational, contingency and deliberate plans associated with CSB/PARC AOR operations.  Provide administrative and logistics assistance with requirements generation execution in support of annual Joint Chief of Staff, multi-national, joint service operations and exercises. Assist with identifying requirements, developing and implementing procedures and process for modular contracting teams executing contracts in support of warfighter operations. Assist contingency contracting modular units and team with the deployable Contingency Contracting Computer hardware/software; certified DAWIA level II warranted contracting officer.

Text Prerequisites
US Air Force: E1 - E5. The DINFOS staff and faculty will determine acceptable trainable voice quality on the basis of a recorded audition. Auditions must be provided to DINFOS and approval received by unit prior to making reservations in ATRRS. Student must have a minimum general AQE score of 72.  US Marine Corps: E1 - E5. Graduate of Basic Public Affairs Specialist - Writer (BPAS-W) course. No voice audition required. Minimum GT score of 110.  US Navy: E1 - E6. Graduate of Basic Public Affairs Specialist - Writer (BPAS-W), or Basic Mass Communication Specialist (BMCS) course. No voice audition required. Minimum VE/AR score of 110.  US Army: US Army candidates attend DINFOS BCC-60 course.  Interagency: Grade, duty position description and selection in accordance with specific agency guidance, policy and procedures. The DINFOS staff and faculty will determine acceptable and trainable voice quality on the basis of a recorded audition. Voice audition must be provided to DINFOS and approved prior to candidate's reservation for training will be accepted.  International: International students attending this course must have an English Comprehension Level (ELC) of 80. Mandatory voice audition tape, from a script provided by the Defense Information School (DINFOS), must be submitted. Approval is a prerequisite to screen candidate with non-trainable voice deficiencies. The DINFOS staff and faculty will determine acceptable and trainable voice quality on the basis of a recorded audition. Voice audition must be provided to DINFOS and approved prior to candidate's reservation for training will be accepted. Suggest the individual be proficient in Microsoft Word, and must be able to type 20 words per minute.

Course Scope:
The graduate is prepared to perform skills in video documentation and broadcast journalism (supervised). The successful student can interact with command, community and media to prepare, report, and release information in accordance with applicable directives. The apprentice communicator, has performed all functions of electronic newsgathering (ENG) and electronic field production (EFP) for video production and documentation to include combat camera operations. Additionally, this trained apprentice has learned and performed the function and formats of writing and announcing protocols for broadcast radio and television production. This apprentice is prepared to work individually or as a member of a team.
