The Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic is primarily responsible for supervising and performing maintenance and recovery operations on wheeled vehicles and associated items, as well as heavy-wheeled vehicles.

Wheel Vehicle Mechanic: The Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic performs and supervises unit, direct support and general support (DS/GS) level maintenance and recovery operations on light and heavy wheeled vehicles, their associated trailers and material handling equipment (MHE).

Motor Sergeant: The motor sergeant is responsible for the execution of the commander’s maintenance plan. They are charged with planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, and controlling field level maintenance assets. While the most influential maintenance manager in a unit is the commander, the motor sergeant is responsible for accomplishing all maintenance missions within the unit. The motor sergeant is responsible for recommending equipment maintenance goals and objectives to the commander responsible for the maintenance of assigned equipment. Responsible for assisting the unit commander in the planning of operator/crew and field level mechanic sustainment training. Responsible for managing resources such as; money, people, time and materials. Responsible for reporting accurate readiness. Responsible for recommending improvements to the Army Maintenance Management System. Responsible for evaluating the constant performance of functional areas of unit maintenance. Responsible for performing high quality TM -10/20 PMCS using the applicable equipment technical manuals. Responsible for integrating safety into all tasks associated with unit maintenance.
