DENTAL TECHNICIAN (855)

Assists Dental Officer in rendering routine dental service. Prepares patients for dental work. Sterilizes and lays out instruments and medical supplies.

Mixes dental cement and amalgams for fillings. Prepares hypodermic syringes and other medicines as necessary. Keeps appointment book and other office records and performs other nonprofessional duties as assigned.

May scale and polish teeth, using dental instruments. May assist in operating X-ray equipment and developing X·ray photographs of defective teeth. Should be thoroughly familiar with nomenclature, medications, and preparations, and equipment used in dental clinic.
